Oven cleaning is
probably the job we all hate. Cookers are dreadful things for
accumulating grease and smells. The average dirty oven is nothing
short of a gaping mouth with a smelly breath and it is difficult
to avoid sticking your head into it whilst cleaning - worse
still is breathing in those fumes from powerful oven cleaners.
Oven cleaning needs addressing.
I'm on a mission!
I want to find the best way to clean an oven. Gleaning that
information isn't as easy as I thought and I seriously believed
that the internet will be the great source of information relating
to cleaning ovens, cookers, stoves and hobs. I use Google and
typed in 'Oven Cleaning UK', the strange thing is, I got lots
of electrical shops that want to sell me a new oven, but no
real information about oven cleaners or oven cleaning. I found
information about the hazardous chemicals used in oven cleaning
products and handy tips about caustic cleaners and how to avoid
melting skin.
These oven cleaning
horrors led me to think about Oven
Cleaning Services in Britain, and Google pointed me towards
a whole new industry, people that clean ovens for a living!
I immediately thought these oven cleaning specialists in the
UK would be busy scrubbing away in our commercial kitchens -
not so!
Busy professionals
with little or no time to clean ovens often use oven cleaning
experts.UK oven cleaning company Ovenu
director Rik Hellewell explained;
"
Whether you are trying to run a busy bustling family
or multi million pound business - time is always a key factor
in your life. A clean oven is what we all strive to achieve,
but with so many other pressures on our time four or five hours
with various cleaning products and rubber gloves just isnt
an option. More and more we are getting calls from busy young
professional men and women who realise having our smiling logo
outside their house proves to the neighbours they have better
things to do with their time.
Since 1994 there has been a massive demand
for our Domestic Oven Cleaning Service. People really do have
better things to do in their spare time - over 100,000 clients
every year can't be wrong!!! Many are concerned about the use
of caustic aerosols and pads and some are not physically able
to perform the job themselves.
We have the solution - a totally caustic free range of unique
products combined with fully company trained technicians using
Design Registered equipment and we do the dirty work for you....safe
for you and the environment when were finished.
Our Franchisees cover most areas within the UK. No secrets,
we have the largest advertised network on the internet!!"
Then
there are responsible landlords who want to leave a nice clean
oven ready for the next tenant and of course those who are selling
their house. I'll bet that there is a subconscious advantage
in having a clean oven, like the smell of fresh bread or ground
coffee ... a nice clean oven would certainly be a selling point.
So,
I've gone from surfing the net for some magic oven cleaner,
to looking at UK
oven cleaning services. Let's face it, would you try this;
1/2 cup ammonia
2 tablespoons mild dishwashing liquid
2 quarts hot water
Pour ammonia into
the measuring cup and place in the oven..Close the oven door
and leave overnight. The next day, remove the ammonia. Mix dishwashing
liquid and water in a bucket. Use a plastic mesh scrubber to
wash out loosened grease and grime.
Or ... call in the
Ovenu
people?
Well, my mission
was short, I leaned that searching the internet for UK oven
cleaners, as in products delivered UK oven cleaners as in a
service industry. May be my local library would be a better
resource for information relating to cleaning ovens, but I pleased
I discovered that there are companies like Ovenu
who are kitted out to clean my oven, restore it to like new
and indeed replace the filters and things.
I began to think
that should I ever want to start a business with potential,
I'd look at an oven cleaning business. Back to Rik Hellewell;
"We
first began testing the Ovenu®
concept in 1994 when we set up our pilot operation. This
business was (and still is) so successful that we decided to
launch across the UK by franchising and we launched Ovenu®
Franchising Ltd. in early 1999.
Such was the appeal and demand for the service that by early
2001 wed valeted tens of thousands of appliances and had
18 franchisees trading successfully.
In early 2002 we engaged a firm of professional franchising
consultants affiliated to the British Franchise Association
to review our operation and help us plan and implement the roll-out
of the rest of the UK
franchise network. They confirmed our belief that franchising
was the best way forward and that the Ovenu® franchise represents
an excellent business opportunity. Were now confident
our franchise system is of the very highest quality and this
will help us to quickly become a fully national operation with
strong household name brand - the leading brand for professional
oven valeting. February 2003 saw our 50th franchise up
and running - now we are looking forward to recruiting our 100th
UK franchise."
